Privacy Policy

We, the developers of Deep Work Guard (the “App”), built this app. This policy explains what the App does — and does not do — with your information.
Information stored on your device (only)
The App stores the following locally, in private app storage, and never sends it anywhere:

You can erase all of the above at any time with Settings → Your data → Delete all my data.
Permissions and why the App uses them
The App only uses these capabilities to run focus sessions on your device:
- Do Not Disturb access — to silence notifications during a session and restore your previous setting afterward.
- Display over other apps — to show the focus “block” screen when you open an app you’ve chosen to block.
- Usage access — to detect which app is in the foreground so it knows when to show that block screen. We do not build a history or profile of your app usage.
- Notification access (optional) — if you enable it, the App logs only the sending app and title of notifications that arrive during a session, solely to show your “what you missed” summary, after which those records are deleted. The App never reads message contents, and never transmits this information.
- Notifications — to display the ongoing session timer.
- Foreground service — to keep a session running reliably while active.
We do not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or call logs.
Purchases
Optional “Pro” features are sold as a one-time purchase processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Google, not us, handles your payment. We never receive or store your name, email, or payment details — we only receive a yes/no entitlement from Google indicating whether you have purchased.
Data sharing
We do not share any data with third parties. The only third party involved is Google Play, which processes purchases under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Backups
If you have Android Backup enabled, Android may back up the App’s settings to your own Google Drive using Google’s encrypted backup mechanism. This is controlled by your device settings, not by us.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. Because the App collects no data at all, it poses no specific risk to children.
Security
Your data lives in Android’s private per-app storage, which other apps cannot access. Because nothing is transmitted off the device, there is no server-side data to breach.
Changes
We may update this policy; we will change the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at the same URL.
